This Year's Ride

This year Ileana and I are riding from Milwaukee, WI to Fargo, ND in memory of my lifelong friend Bryce.  We will be raising awareness of cancer research and raising funds for the Cancer Research Institute.  Please take some time to follow the link and learn about the important work of Cancer Research Institute.  Donations to fund this organization may be made at Ride For Bryce.  Donations DO NOT support the bicycle tour in any way.

We will cycle west out of Milwaukee until we hit the mighty Mississippi north of La Crosse, WI. We will then follow the Mississippi River Trail to St Cloud, MN where we join the Lake Wobegon Trail and the Central Lakes Trail.  After we reach Fergus Falls, MN, we transition back to "regular roads" until we reach Fargo.

This year - no camping!  On previous rides, we have camped, alternated camping with hotels, and stayed in B&Bs.  This time we are going to try mostly hotels and staying with hosts on Warm Showers.  Yes, it is a funny sounding name... but it is a network by cyclists for cyclists who host each other during tours.  This will be our first time trying it so we'll see how it goes!

We are cycling our way coast to coast two weeks at a time.  See the pictures below for this year's route and for the overall scope of our travels.  Next year we'll ride Fargo to Billings, MT. In 2017, Billings to Lewiston, ID.  In 2018 we'll get to the Pacific after riding from Lewiston to Astoria, OR.

Stay tuned!  We fly to Milwaukee on 13 June and start riding on 15 June!

The entire trip!
